James Newell lives in Old Hickory, TN and races Spec Miata. In his rookie appearance at the 2026 SCCA Runoffs at Road America he started fifth and won by 1.071 seconds in car #23, taking the Spec Miata national championship.
His coaching philosophy is simple: give the driver one clear thing to change, prove it with data, and repeat until it is automatic. No theory dumps, no guesswork — just measurable progress session by session.
